How do I reset my Canvas, email or my.lfgsm password?

To reset your password for Canvas, my.LFGSM, or your LFGSM email account, follow these steps:

1. Go to https://my.lfgsm.edu
2. In the username field, enter your username
   • If you've forgotten your username as well, see the article What Is My Username?
3. In the password field, enter the word "Forgot"
4. Click the "Login" button 
5. This takes you to the "Incorrect Login" screen
6. Click the "I forgot my password" link
7. This will take you to the "Forgot Password" screen
8. Click the "Send New Password" button
   • NOTE: If you've set up a security question, you will not see the "Send New Password" button. If you've forgotten the answer to your security question, Submit a Help Desk Request or email us at [e-mail].
9. A new, random password will be sent to the Personal Email address on record
   • NOTE: Some email services incorrectly flag this email as spam. Be sure to check your Junk Mail folder
   • If you do not receive an email from [e-mail] with your new password within 5 minutes, Submit a Help Desk Request or email us at [e-mail].
10. Once you have received your new password, repeat steps 1 & 2. For step 3, enter the new password you were sent
