What’s the difference between an Official and an Unofficial transcript?

Official Transcripts

• Lake Forest Graduate School of Management has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering via the Web.
• There is a fee charged for official transcripts. 
• Only an official transcript includes the Registrar’s signature, the college seal and the date it was issued. If sent electronically, official transcripts are electronically verified by both the sending and receiving institution. 
• An official transcript is delivered in a sealed envelope or secure electronic PDF, which should not be opened by anyone except the addressee. It is a legal document.

Unofficial Transcripts

• You can access your unofficial transcript at any time through the Student Portal: https://my.lfgsm.edu/ics/
• There is no charge for Unofficial Transcripts. 
• Unofficial transcripts can be used by students to check grades or course enrollment history.
• Unofficial transcripts are printed on plain paper and do not have a college seal or registrar’s signature.
