Using Zoom for Remote Attendance
- Go to your course in Canvas
- To access Zoom in your course, select the 'Zoom' button on the course menu
- If you're using Zoom for the first time, you will need to select 'Authenticate' and then 'Authorize' to allow Zoom to integrate with your Canvas account.
- You should now see the meeting scheduled for your course under the 'New Zoom Meetings' or 'Zoom Meetings Currently in Progress' sections.
- Click on the 'Join' button to connect to the meeting
- You can join your meeting by downloading the Zoom app or launching it in your web browser
- Once you launch Zoom, you will be able to select your preferred audio connection.
- If you choose to connect via phone:
- Dial the Zoom number for your location
- Type in your individualized audio code
- Then select the 'I'm already on the phone' link to continue
- If you choose to connect via your computer:
- Share your video to optimize your experience and to allow your class to see you
- Share/mute your audio as needed
- If you choose to connect via phone:
- If this is the first time you are using Zoom, you may be prompted to add the Zoom extension to your web-browser
- Once you are fully connected, wait for the meeting to begin
- When the meeting is over, click on the red leave button to leave the session.
